Recently I participated in a seminar discussion at the SIDLIT conference for online educators that focused on the PBS Frontline episode “Digital Nation – Life on the virtual frontier” We had a chance to debate and discuss how technology is being used by students/trainees to “learn” in the classroom and training environment. This episode is relevant to human resources professionals and trainers as it shows how technology is affecting the education and learning styles for our current and future employees.
You can view the clips from the PBS special used during the SIDLIT conference keynote at: http://web.jccc.edu/dlcc/sidlit_digital_nation/. The keynote was followed by a special interest group discussion focusing on the Digital Nation. Fourteen questions were prepared and continue to be discussed online at the following link: http://voicethread.com/#q.b1268213.i6815575 If you are new to VOICETHREAD simply register and start using the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
